Welcome to the website of the 7th Battalion, The Black Watch 1939-45 Living History Association. We are an historical association dedicated to preserving the History and Traditions of the Scottish Highland Regiments in World War II.

BW Insignia The photo at the left shows the insignia worn by the 7th Battalion, The Black Watch. The red "HD" and circle on blue patch is that of the famous 51st Highland Division, which was home to the 1st, 5th, and 7th Battalions of the Royal Highland Regiment. The three scarlet stripes represent membership in the third most senior brigade in the division (154 Brigade). The tartan "flash" in the shape of the Star of the Order of the Thistle, identifies the wearer as a member of The Black Watch (The Royal Highland Regiment). These markings were worn on the upper sleeves of the Battle Dress Blouse.
